About Me

My name is Kari, and I like to write. About EVERYTHING. When I was in high school I used to carry my journal around everywhere I went, and I could fill six pages a day with all of my (obviously very deep and important) teenage thoughts and feelings. I don't feel the need to document every second of my life anymore, but I still really love writing about the little day-to-day things, because life can be kind of wild.

And I like to think that part of embracing the ordinary is admitting that the "ordinary" is usually pretty insane when you look at it from an outside perspective.

To describe myself in a little more detail...

I'm in my early 20s, and I am currently employed as a retail drone and a freelance photographer (can you say that you're employed if you're freelance? I say yes, since I HAVE made money doing it). My writing and photography works have been occasionally published, mostly in the online magazine Divine Caroline (the photography was published in a Minnesota guidebook in 2010).

On the less professional side, I am a huge nerd about many, many things. I love to cross stitch, especially when it relates to one of my fandoms. I like ghost stories, even though sometimes I freak myself out too much to sleep. One of my goals in life is to own every book that Charles Dickens ever wrote. I'm kind of a fashion junkie, even though you wouldn't know it to look at me. I'm a feminist, and I try to promote positive body image. I sing with the Minnesota Mormon Chorale, and I absolutely love it. I own more than150 movies, and I think I might have a problem.

And I write about ALL of this.

Welcome to my blog.
